Things to Do in Hermann & Beyond
Attractions & Adventures in Missouri Wine Country
Day Trip #1 - Testing the Wines and Spirits of Hermann, MO
Raise your glass and make a toast to the many blessings of life and love that we enjoy every day.
- Call and book the Hermann Trolley and enjoy your scenic ride into town where your group can enjoy the many fine wineries we are so very blessed to have in our community. The Hermann Trolley can be reached at 636.575.6920 to make your scheduled pickup and return to the Hermann Grain Bins Bed and Breakfast and Retreat Center.
- If some of your group may prefer other Spirits, we also have that covered. They can check out our breweries and distilleries as well. You can see a large list by visiting our community site for Hermann at
https://visithermann.com/visitor-guide . - Some feedback on one of our stops in Hermann, Missouri, “Hermannhof Winery has added a Brewery and Distillery to their downtown location. The Tin Mill Brewery and the Blackshire Distillery". So for those with a love for local spirits, this is a MUST!
- Try their local favorite, the blackberry whiskey. It’s a GREAT mixer with "Lemonade”.
NOTE: Since we are about 14 some miles out of the City of Hermann make sure you have this all arranged with the Trolley Service before you leave and understand their cutoffs and such on return trips back to The Bins. Would not want to leave someone behind in your group! We do have limited service by taxi and by Lyft with reservations. If you want to rent a bus, I know somebody if they have availability!
Day Trip #2 - Exploring Rosebud, MO
Stroll the streets of Rosebud, Missouri
A short 6-mile drive from The Bins, visit Rosebud's antique stores, novelty shops, and coffee houses.
While in the area you can enjoy one of several restaurant bars in Rosebud or pack a picnic lunch and create your own romantic lunch.
One visitor said this about the Rosebud Haberdashery: “This store is amazing. Located in an old church right on Highway 50 in Rosebud, it used to be the old Clancy’s Marketplace, but has since been turned into a home decor/furniture/antique store. This is a must stop when you are in town. They have such a unique selection of items, you will not leave empty-handed!”
Lots to see in this “little bump in the road” full of fun, life and creativity. Artists seem to have embraced the rural life of Rosebud!
Day Trip #3 - Horse Drawn Carriage Tour
Get your cowboy boots on and book a horse-drawn carriage ride.
Join our friends, Thomas and Cynthia Siebert who own and operate Wine Country Wagon rides 636.667.1174.
They schedule their rides for pick up at the always enjoyable White Mule Winery just 6 miles from the Bed and Breakfast and Retreat Center.
A short drive, shopping, lunch, wagon ride, & winery stop and you have had a memorable full day just minutes from your stay at The Bins. Wine Country Wagon provides a unique and memorable experience through Missouri Wine Country in the relaxing comfort of a horse-drawn wagon ride.
Rides at the nearby White Mule Winery are available during select weekends April through October and feature a horse-drawn wagon excursion through the vineyard and farming community known as Charlotte, MO, which was settled in the 1830s.

Day Trip #4 - Explore St. Louis
Spend the day enjoying St. Louis outdoors.
Lots to choose from but some of our personal favorites are:
- The St. Louis Zoo
- The Botanical Gardens
- The Butterfly House
- Forest Park
St. Louis is approximately 1 hour east of The Bins. Since we are just 3 miles from Highway 50, it will easily connect to Interstate 44 East and bring you right into the city.
Day Trip #5 - Visit Jefferson City, MO
Go visit our state capitol, historic Jefferson City, Missouri.
There are so many great restaurants, especially historic Madison's Café just a quick walk from our State Capitol building.
Make your arrangements and reservations ahead of time to get a scheduled tour.
Visit Trip Advisor to check out the wild and weird tours that are available to enjoy.
The penitentiary tour kind of freaks me out, but some folks really seem to enjoy it. I’d rather visit a museum and look at local art myself, but to each their own, right?
Day Trip#6 - Explore Downtown Hermann, MO
Shop the cool stores and vintage shops of Hermann, Missouri.
We take pride in local family-owned stores and restaurants that are typically open year round in town. Many of them are owned by life-long residents, and we also have folks that have visited and never left that fell in LOVE WITH US.
We hope you all enjoy strolling the streets of Hermann and visiting the local cafes, bars and restaurants as well.
